A pediatric dentist is a dentist who specializes in the oral health care of babies, children, and adolescents. Their work goes beyond conventional dental care, as they are trained to address the specific needs of young patients, from their first visit to the dentist through adolescence.

Some of the main functions of a pediatric dentist are:

Diagnosis and treatment: Detecting and treating cavities, gum disease, and other common oral problems in children. Performing dental cleanings and restorative treatments adapted to the needs of young patients.

Prevention: Educating parents and children about the importance of good oral hygiene, including age-appropriate brushing and flossing techniques. Applying sealants and fluoride to protect teeth from cavities.

Preventive and interceptive orthodontics: Identifying problems of malocclusion (incorrect bite) and dental growth in early stages, to correct them in time and prevent future complications.

Behavior management: Using communication and behavior management techniques so that children feel comfortable and safe during dental visits, creating a positive experience that encourages long-term oral health care.

Attention to special needs: Providing specialized dental care to children with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or other medical conditions that require an individualized approach

We strongly believe in inclusion and we are proud to offer quality dental care to children with disabilities. Our staff is trained in behavior management techniques and has the patience and empathy to tailor treatments to each patient’s individual needs.
